Who We Are

The Emergency Medicine Summer School is an international educational project organized by the European Medical Students’ Association Zagreb(EMSA Zagreb).
Since its founding in 2000, EMSA Zagreb has been dedicated to enhancing medical education, fostering international collaboration, and promoting public health initiatives.
EMSA Zagreb operates as a faculty member organization of the European Medical Students’ Association (EMSA), a non-governmental, non-profit organization representing medical students across Europe.
With over 50,000 members across 30 countries, EMSA provides a platform for knowledge exchange and professional development.

Our Mission

At EMSS, our mission is to equip future medical professionals with essential skills in emergency medicine through hands-on experience and expert-led training.
Our program focuses on:
– Practical skill developmentin emergency medicine
– Simulation-based learning with real-life medical scenarios
– International networking with students and professionals in the field
– Certification opportunities, including the Immediate Life Support (ILS) course

Our History

EMSS traces its roots to 2004, when it was first launched as the DubrovnikSummer School. Over the years, the program evolved and, in 2019, relocated to Zadar, where it continues to grow in scope and reputation. Each year, EMSS welcomes over 40 participants from Croatia and abroad, providing them with a week of intensive training, hands-on workshops, and expert lectures.
